MALCONTENT Plus on ‘Color’

I never used to wear anything this light in coloration. Up until about ten years ago, I only wore black. If you looked in my closet, that was all you’d see. A client and I had this discussion about the tendency toward ‘black’ a couple of days ago. I realized I did like wearing colors other than black, but somehow in my aesthetic, ‘color’ was never made for my plus size. ‘Color’ usually came in very expected stereotypically feminine ways that felt like it wasn’t me. When I began adding non-black pieces, it was difficult to flex them into my wardrobe at first, but I find when you accumulate enough alternatives to ‘black’, you can work them in seamlessly.
